We transform the communities where our team members live and work through our philanthropy and people.
Our grants, programs, and volunteers focus on promoting human potential through STEM education, basic human needs and equitable opportunities.
With the unprecedented challenges of 2020, Dee Mooney, Micron Foundation Director, discusses how the Foundation accomplished the following:
No one can thrive in an environment where their most basic needs aren’t met. In the 15 countries where Micron Foundation participates, we work to understand local challenges and collaborate with others to be a catalyst for good. We partner with nonprofits and community leaders to address issues that thwart human potential and harm our communities — with an eye on equitable opportunity for all.
Ideas can solve problems. When students make the connection between the power of their minds and the thrill of creating, exploring, working and doing – they realize they can change the world. STEM education is critical to unlocking that world of possibilities. We support programs and partners that make that opportunity a reality for all, with an emphasis on underrepresented and underresourced student populations.
Our philanthropic efforts are an important part of who we are. We build volunteerism and giving right into our culture through our support of community service time and matching our team members’ charitable giving.
We partner with Benevity to connect causes all over the world to our giving, matching and volunteering programs. To help your organization be a more seamless part of our giving, please go to the Benevity Causes portal to register your organization. This not only connects you to Micron’s giving programs, but also to more than 650+ other companies.
We are applying the full strength and resources of Micron to support our communities worldwide. We committed $10 million through the Micron Foundation to aid recovery from the pandemic.
